Updating VCF Operations and Operations for Logs to 9.0.2

VCF 9.0.2 recently dropped, we already upgraded VCF Operations Fleet Manager, let's upgrade Operations and Operations for Logs next! First, we'll download the necessary binaries. Go to Operations Fleet Management - Lifecycle - Binary Management - UPGRADE BINARIES.

Once you've selected both packages click DOWNLOAD.

You can watch progress here.

Once complete they will show like this.

Back in Binary Management - UPGRADE BINARIES you'll see the new binaries.

Let's upgrade! Go to Components - PLAN UPGRADE and select 9.0.2.0 for both Operations and Logs.

Note: I had to run an Inventory Sync on both Operations and Logs to get the upgrade options here. Click CREATE PLAN.

Click UPGRADE on the Operations component.

Click PROCEED and follow the prompts.

Click NEXT and run the upgrade assessment.

Select the "I have viewed the reports and agree to proceed" box and click NEXT.

Select the "Take a component snapshot" box and click NEXT.

Run the Precheck and click NEXT.

Now we wait.

It errored out on Stage 8 indicating SSH is disabled.

So I logged into the Operations Admin UI and enabled SSH.

Then back to Operations Fleet Management Lifecycle to continue on.

And we're done!

I love that Fleet Manager Lifecycle takes Snapshots before upgrades and deletes them once the upgrade has been successfully completed, so clean! Operations is now at 9.0.2.

Now let's upgrade Operations for Logs to 9.0.2.

Back in the Components tab click the UPRADE button next to Operations for Logs and PROCEED.

Click NEXT.

Select the "Take component snapshot" box and click NEXT.

Run the Precheck.

If all is well click NEXT.

Review and click SUBMIT.

Once done it'll look like this. Notice that it both took pre-upgrade Snapshots and deleted them once the upgrade completed successfully.

Back on the Components tab you'll notice Operations for Logs is now 9.0.2.
