VCF Operations and Operations for Logs Integrations

In VCF Operations 9 we've made the integration between VCF Operations and Operations for Logs even more robust. There are several different places you can view logs in VCF Operations, Infrastructure Operations - Analyze is the first.

This provides the general logs viewing experience: you can search logs here, compare logs, save queries, use extracted fields, and more. This is similar to the experience from the Operations for Logs UI itself.
The second place you'll find logs is on the Troubleshooting Workbench.

Here you will see logs for the object you are troubleshooting and any related objects in the Selected Scope on the left. Note: the only objects currently supported here are vCenters, ESXi Hosts, and VMs. That is, we will only show logs coming from vCenter, ESXi Hosts and VMs with the vRLI Agent running on them. What is shown here isn't running a query based on the object name in question, but rather mapping the object names in scope to a log coming from the same source. As you expand the Selected Scope on the left you will see more logs.

The third place you will find logs in VCF Operations 9 is from an object Summary Page.

Here I'm on the Summary Page for an ESXi Host and looking at the Logs tab, which will show all logs coming from the ESXi Host in question. Note: here again we are mapping the object name to a log coming from the same source, we are not just running a query looking for that string. Also, for VMs, the Logs tab from the Summary Page will only show logs coming from a vRLI Agent on that VM.

Here for example is what the Logs tab looks like for a VM without the vRLI Agent collecting logs. Whereas, here is an example of the Logs tab from a VM with the vRLI Agents collecting logs on it.

I expect more and richer integrations coming in VCF 9.1 and beyond, but this is what we have for now, hope this was helpful!
