Earlier this year we discussed sending VCF Operations logs to VCF Operations for Logs. Earlier today I discovered that we can actually send just VCF Operations User Activities to Operations for Logs, here's how.

Log into VCF Operations and go to Administration - Control Panel - User Activity Audit.

As you can see, this log shows User logins and logouts, including both via the UI and API. Clicking the gears icon will present you with this.

Check the box and give it the IP address or FQDN of your VCF Operations for Logs primary node. Now in Operations 8.18.x and previous it'll just take this. But in VCF Operations 9.0 you'll see something like this.

In order to save your new settings, you'll have to add this Log Class to your Collector Logs via Administration - Control Panel - Support Logs.

Select the gears icon.

Select the + button to add the required Log Class.

Click OK.

Click OK to save it. Now, exploring the User Activity Audit log for my userid activity I see this.

Which I now see in VCF Operations for Logs as well.

Powerful integration, enjoy!
