We've discussed the vCommunity Management Pack a few times already, just so you have all the articles in one spot here's the list:

Onur Yuzseven dropped the latest version of the VCF Operations vCommunity Management v0.3.0 earlier today, which you can download here. The Release Notes can be found there as well, but to summarize what was done:

Key Highlights & What’s New

⚡ 240x Faster Data Collection (Complete Code Refactor)

The entire adapter codebase has been refactored! Property execution time has been dramatically reduced, making adapter data collection up to 240x faster.

🆕 Added Properties to 2 additional Object Types

  • vCenter (11 new properties): Database Task & Event Retentions, MOB status, Patch Level, and more.

  • Datastore (8 new properties): Extent ID (Canonical Name), Block Size, VMFS Upgradeable, SIOC, and more.

🔍 Deeper ESX Host Visibility

  • Host Storage Adapters (HBAs): Bus, Device, Model, PCI, Type, Status, HBA Count, ATS Heartbeat/Locking.

  • Host pNIC Identifiers: Hardware IDs (VID / DID / SVID), Vendor, Duplex, MAC, PCI details.

📝 Enhanced Logging

  • Added an adapter logging summary pattern to easily track object collection status and diagnose issues faster.

📊 Complete Overview of New Properties

  • vCenter (NEW - 11 properties): DB Task/Event Retentions, MOB, Patch Level

  • Datastore (NEW - 8 properties): Extent ID, Block Size, VMFS Upgradeable, SIOC

  • Virtual Machine (40 new properties): vNIC, BIOS, vDisk, Guest OS, Hardware Upgrade, Tools status & more

  • Host (23 new properties): pNIC VID/DID/SVID, HBA details, pNIC Vendor/Duplex/MAC/PCI, ATS Heartbeat, Timezone, GMT Offset & more

  • Cluster (12 new properties): Host Power Action Rate, Effective Hosts count, Overall Status & more

The new vCenter Properties can be found here, which can be used in Dashboards, Views, Reports, and more. The next revision of the vCommunity Management Pack will include updated content (think RVTools output), more to come later.

The new Datastore properties can be found here, including the Device Backing Extent Name (and ID) for non-vSAN Datastores, something we've been wanting for a long time!

The new ESX Host Storage Adapter (vmHBA) properties can be found here, including Bus, Model, Status, and more.

The new ESX Host Network Adapter (vmnic) properties can be found here, including Driver/Firmware Versions, MAC, PCI, DID, SVID, VID, Status, and more.

We added additional properties for VMs and Clusters as well, all of which are available in the vCommunity section of the Properties dropdowns of each Object Type.

Finally, we added more robust logging to the logs to track potential collection issues.

So much goodness in the vCommunity Management Pack v0.3.0, great work by Onur Yuzseven! I'm developing updated Dashbaords, Views, and Reports to use many of these new properties, these should be available in the next release. Hope this was helpful, enjoy!
